It’s an amusing, yet frustrating predicament—who knew keeping tabs on the mental state of the leader of the free world would be controversial?

Crawford didn’t stop at just addressing Biden’s foggy thinking; she also struck a nerve with a commentary on the media’s notoriously cozy relationship with the Democrats and their all-out assault on the Supreme Court. She deftly summarized the Left’s post-Dobbs tantrum where they’ve resorted to hyperbole and orchestrated smear campaigns designed to dismantle the Court’s credibility. According to Crawford, the weak arguments used by Senate Democrats to undermine this institution are nothing short of laughable, yet are presented as if they were the latest blockbuster.
The uproar, she pointed out, is an embarrassing show of desperation from a party that simply can’t fathom a conservative Court making rulings that don’t align with their whims. The media frenzy around the supposed “scandals” afflicting justices was, as she characterized it, not only exaggerated but wildly inaccurate. Instead of focusing on real governance, the Democrats have insisted on flinging mud at the walls and hoping something sticks. However, in Crawford’s eyes, the Court may be conservative, but it’s hardly corrupt; they are simply practitioners of the law trying to interpret the Constitution amidst a swirling, politically charged atmosphere.
Public perception of the Supreme Court has taken a hit, but that’s nothing new. In fact, it’s quite comforting to know that, despite the Left’s incessant clamor, the Court’s approval ratings still surpass those of the White House, Congress, and – brace yourself – the mainstream media. It seems that, in the grand scheme of things, Americans have more faith in the judicial branch than in the very people tasked with leading the nation. Who would have thought the justices would come out on top amid a never-ending circus of political theatrics?
In the midst of it all, Crawford delivered a pointed reminder that the Supreme Court isn’t supposed to mold its decisions based on public opinion. Their role is to interpret the law, and that’s something that should not be compromised based on the latest Twitter trend. It might be time for the Democrats – and their media henchmen – to accept that their attempts at undermining the Court aren’t working and that Biden’s mental faculties are not the only thing that should be under scrutiny.
