The latest Liberal Media Scream highlights the extreme reactions from the Left regarding conservative judges on the Supreme Court. MSNBC regular commentator Elie Mystal made unsubstantiated claims about Associate Justice Clarence Thomas, suggesting that he believes black votes should count less than white votes in elections based on his marriage to a white woman.

Mystal’s remarks on All In with Chris Hayes irresponsibly targeted Justice Thomas and accused him of holding discriminatory beliefs. This came after a 6-3 Supreme Court decision to uphold a South Carolina congressional map, which had been previously ruled as including a racially drawn gerrymander by a lower court. The decision was authored by Associate Justice Samuel Alito, prompting Mystal to make baseless connections between the decision and his wife’s display of the American flag.
Brent Baker of the Media Research Center rightfully points out the low tactics used by Mystal and his colleagues to smear the Supreme Court and Justice Thomas. This race-based attack on a conservative African American judge reflects the Left’s desperation and disregard for the integrity of American institutions.
It is concerning to see a major news network like MSNBC allow such unfounded and divisive rhetoric to be aired. The gratuitous and unfair targeting of Justice Thomas based on his wife’s race and baseless assumptions about his beliefs undermine the principles of fair and respectful discourse. The emphasis on personal attacks and race-based insinuations over factual analysis is a disservice to the American public and a disheartening display of bias in the media.
