The comments that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi made on the rate of inflation have drawn criticism.
Pelosi (D-Calif.) was questioned on Sunday by CBS regarding the manner in which Democrats are attempting to rally people in advance of the midterm elections due to the record-high inflation that has occurred under the leadership of Democrats.
In response, she stated that Democrats should "change the subject."

Pelosi's remarks came under fire from a number of people, including the Republican speaker of the House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy of California, and Republican congressman Byron Donalds of Florida (R-Fla.). Donalds brought attention to the significant impact that inflation is having on families in the working and middle classes.
