In a surprising turn of events, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has finally decided to take action against the illegal immigrants who viciously attacked two NYPD officers. Initially, Bragg claimed that video evidence of the assault would not be enough to hold them accountable. But it seems he has finally come to his senses, as he announced that a grand jury will be presented with the evidence on Tuesday.
Bravo, Bragg! It’s about time you realized that these criminals should be held responsible for their heinous acts. It is abundantly clear from the video and additional evidence that the most culpable individuals have not yet been apprehended. This is why we need a strong district attorney who will work tirelessly with law enforcement to ensure that justice is served.
However, there is a glaring problem with this case. Reports suggest that at least four of the attackers have fled to California using fake identities with the assistance of a refugee charity. Can you believe it? Not only are these individuals assaulting our brave men and women in uniform, but they are also evading justice. It’s a slap in the face to every law-abiding citizen.
Questions linger about why Bragg initially released these migrants without consequences. Maybe he felt sympathy for them, or perhaps he was more interested in pursuing his own political agenda. Regardless, Governor Kathy Hochul, a fellow Democrat, expressed her disappointment with Bragg’s decision. She rightly pointed out that an assault on a police officer should be a bail-eligible offense. It’s common sense, folks.
The growing problem of crime committed by migrants living in shelters cannot be ignored. Former NYPD Chief of Department Terry Monahan, a reputable source, warns that as the numbers of migrants increase, so does the crime rate. Shockingly, many of these criminals are released back onto the streets to wreak havoc again after their first arrest. It’s a revolving door of lawlessness that needs to be addressed immediately.
The Police Benevolent Association is rightfully outraged by the lack of action. Police officers risk their lives daily to protect our communities, only to see their attackers walk free. President Patrick Hendry rightly declares that our criminal justice system is upside down. It’s high time we prioritize the safety and security of our brave men and women in blue over the misguided sympathies of liberal elites.
Let’s hope that the grand jury sees through the smoke and mirrors, delivers justice swiftly, and sends a strong message that assaulting law enforcement will not be tolerated in our great nation. It’s time for a wake-up call, both for the criminals and the lenient politicians who enable them.
