Joe Scarborough, a fervent Biden cheerleader, seems to have pulled the curtain back on some Democrat drama. The MSNBC host suggested that the Biden camp and top Dems believe none other than former President Obama is orchestrating a behind-the-scenes effort to derail Sleepy Joe. Who would have thought the Democratic Unity Parade would end with Obama tossing banana peels in Biden’s path?
Scarborough, who likely has a special Biden shrine in his home, took a swing at Obama and his cronies for allegedly trying to sabotage Joe’s ride to re-election. Democrats are apparently in a tizzy, suspecting that Obama is playing puppet master in a covert operation to edge Biden out. According to Scarborough, if Biden catches wind of this conspiracy, it won’t exactly speed up his exit from the race—quite the opposite.

Taking aim at former Obama advisor David Axelrod, Scarborough pointed out how Axelrod’s constant jabs at Biden are having the opposite effect. Instead of nudging Joe to the nearest exit, it’s making him dig in his heels. The Obama-era podcast ensemble, Pod Save America, just keeps fueling Biden’s determination every time they toss some shade his way. Clearly, Obama’s crew forgot the first rule of fight club: don’t mess with a stubborn old man.
Scarborough revealed just how deep Biden’s bitterness runs towards Obama, despite their public show of kinship. It turns out Joe is harboring more resentment than a forgotten middle child. Apparently, Biden never quite got over being pushed aside for Hillary Clinton, and he’s none too pleased about anyone suggesting he make way now. Joe’s list of confidants who might actually get through to him reads like a who’s who of Democratic fossils: Nancy Pelosi, Ted Kaufman, Chris Dodd, John Kerry, and a handful of Biden family members and aides.
Adding another layer to this political soap opera, reports surfaced that George Clooney had run an op-ed by Obama before suggesting Biden step down. Clooney, ever the obedient Hollywood lapdog, got a silent nod from Obama instead of a rebuke. Even co-host Mika Brzezinski chimed in with the theory that Obama was the mastermind behind Clooney’s suggestion.
Despite all this drama, Obama publicly remains Biden’s number-one fan, chalking up the election debate fallout to just a “bad night” and reminding everyone of his trustworthy and earnest nature—at least on social media. But behind closed doors, whisper campaigns suggest Obama isn’t too thrilled with his former VP’s performance. Seems like the Democrats are vying for an Emmy with their White House reality show.
