Outrage: School Board Member Swears on LGBTQ+ Books, Snubs Family Values

This week, in a shocking display of disregard for family values and tradition, a member of the Fairfax County School Board in Virginia, Karl Frisch, took his oath of office on a stack of LGBTQ+ themed books. This outrageous act is an affront to the values of the conservative majority in Fairfax County who believe in upholding moral standards and protecting the innocence of our children.

The books in question, such as “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” and “Gender Queer,” are known for their explicit and inappropriate content. These books have been banned in schools across the country for good reason – they promote deviant behaviors and confuse children about their own identities. It is not “book banning” to want age-appropriate material in our children’s schools; it is simply common sense.

What is truly troubling about this incident is that Frisch and his fellow board members were not required to bring a religious book for their swearing-in ceremony. Instead, they were seemingly encouraged to bring whatever books they wanted, and the result was a display of divisive and controversial literature. It is a sad reflection on the values and priorities of our school board when an elected official chooses to use this solemn occasion to virtue signal and promote their own ideological agenda.

Frisch claims that the Fairfax County school district aims to create “inclusive” schools, but what about inclusivity for those who hold conservative values and want to protect their children from harmful content? This one-sided approach to inclusivity is anything but fair and equitable. It’s clear that Frisch’s agenda is aimed at advancing the interests of a small minority rather than serving the needs of all students and families in Fairfax County.

It is embarrassing and disappointing that Frisch, as a newly elected official, would choose to prioritize his own personal agenda over the well-being and success of our students. His decision to be sworn in on books that are divisive and inappropriate sends a clear message that he is not capable of impartially discharging the duties of his office. We need school board members who prioritize student achievement and success, not those who use their positions to push a radical agenda.

This incident also underscores the broader issue of explicit and inappropriate content being promoted in our schools. The book “Gender Queer” has been at the center of controversy in many school districts, and it is alarming that it continues to be pushed by teachers unions and defended by politicians on the left. These so-called “educational” materials are nothing more than pornography disguised as literature, and they have no place in our schools.

Parents have the fundamental right to direct the education and upbringing of their children, and it is time for conservatives to stand up and defend those rights. We cannot allow extreme politicians and teachers unions to dictate what our children are exposed to in the classroom. It is up to us, as concerned parents and community members, to hold our elected officials accountable and ensure that our schools are places of learning and moral development, not places of ideological indoctrination. The future of our children depends on it.
