According to Breitbart News, a total of 16 people were shot in Chicago over the course of just Friday and Saturday night; three of the victims passed away as a result of their wounds.
On Monday morning, ABC 7 and the Chicago Sun-Times reported that the total number of victims of shootings over the weekend had risen to 27, including two additional shooting deaths, bringing the total number of fatal shootings over the weekend to five.
An individual who had been wounded in a drive-by shooting on Saturday afternoon was a victim of one of the further shootings that resulted in death.
According to reports from FOX News, the drive-by shooting left four people hospitalized, including one in severe condition. A person or persons opened fire on the victims, who ranged in age from 24 to 42, as they were in an alley.
Times said that one of the individuals who had been wounded passed away.
The body of a 23-year-old guy who had been shot and was lying on the ground “in the 4200-block of South State Street” was found by cops shortly before 4:00 a.m. on Sunday. This was the sixth person to be shot and killed during the course of the weekend. He was sent to the hospital, where it was determined that he had passed away.
The Sun-Times reported that between January 1, 2022 and June 12, 2022, a total of 267 persons lost their lives in the city of Chicago.
