Peacock streaming service may have gained 2 million subscribers in the last three months, but that hasn’t stopped them from losing a whopping $651 million in the same time period. And it seems like this is just par for the course for them. In the previous quarter, they lost $704 million, and in the second quarter of 2022, they lost $467 million. It’s no wonder that they’re expecting to lose a staggering $3 billion in 2023.
Nolte: Peacock Streaming Lost $651M Over 3 Months
HOLLYWOOD IS FINISHED!!!! https://t.co/Kd2slSOmFb— Fred Johnson (@FredJoh26842729) July 28, 2023
This news is just more evidence that Hollywood is in serious trouble. With the demise of cable and satellite TV, where people were shelling out big bucks each month for channels they never watched, Hollywood was raking in the dough. But now, with the rise of all these streaming options, people are cutting the cord and canceling their subscriptions. And that means Hollywood is losing out on a steady stream of unearned money. It looks like their whole rigged system is on the brink of collapse.
And it’s not just Peacock that’s suffering. Every streaming service, except Netflix of course, is bleeding money. It seems that people just aren’t interested in their crappy content anymore. It’s no wonder when you look at what they’re offering. And to add insult to injury, Peacock still has commercials! Why on earth would anyone pay $5.99 a month for a service that offers nothing of value and still bombards you with ads? It’s ridiculous.
If you’re paying for the Internet, there are so many free options out there for movies and TV shows. From FreeVee to Redbox to Tubi, there is a wealth of content available at no cost. Sure, there may be some commercials, but at least you’re not paying for the privilege of being advertised to. And if you live in a metro area, a cheap antenna will give you access to all the major networks for free. So why are people still shelling out their hard-earned cash for these streaming services?
It’s time to wake up and realize that these subscription companies are bleeding us dry. They charge us month after month, and we have nothing to show for it. No ownership, no tangible assets, nothing. It’s time to take back control of our entertainment and stop paying for TV.
