Over the weekend, a pro-terrorism mob descended upon a Jewish neighborhood in Los Angeles, proving once again that lawlessness and anti-Semitism have found a comfy corner in progressive America. Decked out in Islamic keffiyehs and waving Palestinian flags like some sinister parade, these agitators zeroed in on the Adas Torah synagogue, targeting Jews merely trying to attend a house of worship.
Interestingly, the scene had a helpful assist from the LAPD, which instead of protecting the innocents, formed a barrier around the synagogue that allowed Hamas sympathizers to dominate the sidewalk and blockade the entrance. Reports emerged of Jews, including children, being harassed and barred from entering their own temple, creating a harrowing scene of state-sanctioned intimidation.
Any American who stands silently and allows this to happen is not an American they are a coward. UPDATE: Biden Finally Releases Statement on Terrorist Mob That Attacked LA Synagogue https://t.co/Gd4boiN7Iw

But as Americans faced this stark replay of historic prejudice, they might have expected a strong response from the nation’s leader. Well, they would be sorely mistaken. President Joe Biden, who claimed he decided to run for office after the infamous Charlottesville rally, didn’t exactly leap into action here. The seismic noise from Biden’s focus on abortion echoed louder than any concern for the embattled Jewish community in Los Angeles. Not a peep from him or his expansive communication team.
Attorney General Merrick Garland, the man who would hunt down a fly if it buzzed near an abortion clinic, was also mysteriously absent. One would think that a synagogue being overrun by a Marxist-Islamist mob might ring some alarm bells at the Department of Justice, especially since their mantra seems to revolve around fighting hate crimes. But no, the silence was deafening, showcasing an alarming double standard.
And let’s not forget, if this mob had menaced a mosque or blocked an abortion clinic, Garland’s DOJ would have rolled out the red carpet of indictments. But violence against Jews? That apparently doesn’t make the cut. There were no federal charges, no emergency press conferences, no outrage from the media elites who are more interested in their Trump-bashing campaigns.
Even former U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman couldn’t help but notice the blatant hypocrisy. He pointed out that if the victims had been any other minority, blocked from exercise their faith by a hate-filled mob, political leaders would be doing cartwheels to condemn it. Yet here we are, with Jewish leaders like Schumer and Emhoff also missing in action, their moral backbone seemingly evaporated.
This episode serves as another glaring reminder: when it comes to certain issues, the left’s silence is their loudest statement.
