The San Francisco Police Officers Association (POA) revealed on Thursday that Reem’s, an Arab bakery chain based in California, has refused to serve a uniformed officer. The POA shared a photo of the email they received from Reem’s, which stated that they will not serve anyone armed and in uniform. The POA also took the liberty of creating a mock-up poster for Reem’s, sarcastically welcoming uniformed officers to visit their establishment.
It is truly disheartening to see a business openly discriminate against law enforcement officers who put their lives on the line to protect their community. Reem’s claims to value social justice and empowerment, yet their actions speak otherwise. This incident raises concerns about the company’s commitment to inclusivity and fairness.
