In June 2023, the House voted to censure Adam Schiff, a prominent figure in the Russia/Trump collusion hoax. For years, he had been using this baseless narrative as a way to undermine Donald Trump's presidency. It was a deserved rebuke for Schiff, who had been manipulating the truth for personal gain.
In March, House Speaker McCarthy had removed Congressman Eric S.walwell from the Intelligence Committee due to his concerns about the committee's integrity. At that time, McCarthy stated that integrity matters more than anything else, and he had been proven right by his decision to censure Schiff.

Democrats showed their support for Congressman Adam Schiff by chanting "shame" and "nay" as the resolution was carried out. This was a predictable reaction from the group that doesn't believe that they are being held responsible for their actions.
The resolution that Congressman Anna Paulina Luna of Florida had proposed was rejected by some Republicans due to the fine. After some amendments were made to the resolution, it passed with a margin of 213 to 209. Six of the legislators voted "present."
Democrats displayed their support for Schiff by holding a pep rally. This was an insightful display considering what he had been accused of. An individual from Tennessee named Angy Ogles called it shameful and bizarre.
Rep. Luna made a point of highlighting the lies that Schiff had told. She also noted that he had released the private phone records of journalists and other politicians as part of the 2019 impeachment report of the Intel Committee.
Although some people believe that expulsion was the best punishment that could have been given to Schiff, it is still to be seen if he will use this issue to his advantage in his upcoming bid to replace California Senator Diane Feinstein.
