Democratic Governor of Pennsylvania Josh Shapiro decided to end a program that provides financial support to pregnancy centers that help women choose not to have an abortion. This move shows a complete disregard for the life of an unborn child.
For many years, Real Alternatives has been providing financial assistance to pregnancy support centers in Pennsylvania, which offer a variety of services to pregnant women, including housing and counseling. Unfortunately, Governor Shapiro decided to end the program, as he believes that women in the state should have access to reproductive healthcare.
It is absurd to think that ending the program would improve women's health. It is also very concerning that babies are at risk from abortion, especially since there are numerous risks associated with this procedure. Unfortunately, the Democratic Governors of Pennsylvania, such as Shapiro, are more concerned with pushing pro-choice legislation than with protecting women's health.
The decision will have a negative impact on pregnancy support centers across the state. Some of these facilities, such as the St. Margaret of the Castello Maternity Home, provide counseling and housing for women who have chosen not to have an abortion, and they will have to find new funding sources. It’s appalling that the governor and his allies would prioritize the destruction of these facilities over the protection of women who made the decision to give their babies life.
Despite Governor Shapiro's decision to end the program, other Republican Governors in the state continue to support and fund similar initiatives. It is very concerning to see that the leaders of Pennsylvania are more concerned with advancing their radical pro-choice agenda than with protecting the lives of unborn children. It's time for the state's Republican Party to decide if it wants to continue supporting these individuals.
It is very important that conservatives defend the rights of unborn children in a society that is constantly devaluing human life. Governor Shapiro's decision shows that it is time for voters in Pennsylvania to elect leaders who are committed to protecting the lives of all human beings.
