Small-town Delaware Gives Lukewarm Embrace to Biden’s White House Run

Joe Biden’s hometown of Scranton, Delaware, is not feeling the love for his 2024 reelection campaign, according to residents interviewed by the far-left Guardian publication. And this lack of enthusiasm in Scranton is just a snapshot of a bigger problem for Biden across the country. His popularity is plummeting, as shown by various polls. Fox News reports that 54 percent of Democrat primary voters would rather have someone else as their candidate. Pew Research reveals that Biden’s approval rating has sunk to a pitiful 33 percent, the lowest since he took office. And when it comes to his policies, only 23 percent of Americans are on board, according to the WSJ. But perhaps the most embarrassing blow to Biden’s ego is the fact that he trails Donald Trump in approval rating among voters aged 18-29, as reported by the NYT.

Even the people of Scranton, who should be Biden’s biggest supporters, are losing faith. Nick Petula, an independent voter who supported Biden in 2020, has lost his passion for the President due to Hunter Biden’s legal troubles. He feels discouraged by the constant stream of negative news surrounding the President’s son. Art therapy major Brandon DeManincor is frustrated that Biden is the Democratic Party’s presumptive nominee for 2024. He would prefer to see someone new, but he knows that’s unlikely to happen. Meanwhile, restaurant worker Mike Boratyn, who voted for Biden in the last election, doesn’t know who he will vote for in 2024. He’s disappointed by the lack of accomplishments by Biden in his first three years in office. It seems like Biden’s promises were just empty words.

And it’s not just Scranton that’s turning its back on Biden. Even Democrats have their doubts about his 2024 campaign. Age is a major concern, as many worry that Biden is not getting any younger. Charlamagne Tha God, the host of The Breakfast Club, urged Biden to step aside and give America the “ultimate Christmas gift.” He compared Biden to a grandfather who needs to pass on the CEO role before it’s too late. Former Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine echoed this sentiment, saying that changing management at the top is necessary to avoid diminishing value for future generations.

It’s clear that Biden’s popularity is plummeting and that even his own hometown is losing faith. With his approval ratings in the dumps and voters questioning his ability to lead, it’s no wonder that Democrats are already worrying about the 2024 election. Biden’s grandpa charm may have won him the presidency, but it’s not enough to keep the American people engaged or inspired. It’s time for Biden to step aside and let a new leader take the reins.
