On Tuesday’s episode of ‘The View,’ Sunny Hostin tried to play the race card to explain Vice President Kamala Harris’ historically low approval ratings. According to Hostin, Kamala’s troubles stem from the fact that she is a black woman and faces discrimination as a result.
It’s almost comical that Hostin would suggest Kamala’s incompetence is due to her race and gender when there are other, more obvious factors at play. Such as her lack of accomplishments in office.
As a woman of color herself, Kamala’s rise to the Vice Presidency should be celebrated as a historic achievement, but that doesn’t mean she’s immune to criticism. She has failed to take initiative to secure our border, make any meaningful contributions to the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, and has struggled to gain support amongst her fellow citizens.
It’s clear that Kamala’s performance is what’s being judged here, and her low approval ratings reflect that. But it’s not surprising to see the left try to use identity politics as an excuse rather than acknowledging the truth.
It’s a shame that Hostin chose to overlook Kamala’s own actions in office and place blame solely on the country’s supposed misogyny and sexism. It demonstrates a clear lack of accountability and an unwillingness to hold authority figures responsible for their actions, something that’s become all too common on the left.
In conclusion, Hostin’s comments on ‘The View’ are a perfect example of how the left continues to play the victim and twist the narrative to try and gain sympathy. Kamala’s low approval ratings are a direct result of her poor performance and inability to lead effectively, and it has nothing to do with her race or gender.
