In a groundbreaking decision, the Supreme Court has struck down race-based discrimination in college admissions, and the reaction from the woke left and media has been nothing short of a complete meltdown. Meanwhile, conservatives and sane-minded legal scholars are celebrating both the ruling and Justice Clarence Thomas’ epic takedown of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson’s arguments. It’s clear that the progressive agenda has once again been dealt a blow.

Former First Lady Michelle Obama’s response to the ruling is a perfect example of the flawed thinking of the left. She claims that black students can’t get ahead without affirmative action, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Affirmative action only perpetuates the idea that black students need special treatment to succeed, when in reality, they are capable of achieving greatness on their own merit. Mrs. Obama also argues that it’s acceptable for “money, power, and privilege” to play a role in college admissions, but somehow thinks it’s unjust for white and Asian-American students to be considered on an equal playing field. It’s a classic case of two wrongs making a right in her eyes.
It’s ironic that Mrs. Obama herself has benefited from affirmative action, yet fails to acknowledge the achievements of her husband, Barack Obama, which had nothing to do with affirmative action. Affirmative action didn’t get him elected as a state senator, U.S. Senator, or President. It’s also worth noting that the generous perks enjoyed by the Obamas during their time in office had nothing to do with affirmative action. They were simply part of the perks bestowed upon all Presidents and First Ladies. Mrs. Obama’s argument falls flat in the face of these facts.
Senator Elizabeth Warren’s reaction to the ruling is equally hypocritical. She attempted to benefit from affirmative action herself by falsely claiming Native American heritage, engaging in cultural appropriation. It’s no surprise that her response didn’t resonate with many people, considering her own questionable actions. Sean Davis of the Federalist didn’t hold back in reminding her of her false representation, and rightfully so. It’s hard to take someone seriously when they have built their career on a lie.
Lastly, we have Gene Wu, a Texas Democrat state legislator who managed to take foolishness and obnoxiousness to a whole new level. He argued that even though the ruling would benefit Asian-Americans, it was somehow a “huge victory” for white supremacy. This kind of warped logic is truly mind-boggling. Wu claimed that Asian-Americans have been used as a foil to eliminate affirmative action, failing to recognize that affirmative action is itself discriminatory and perpetuates racial divisions. It’s clear that Wu is more interested in pushing a narrative than in promoting equality.
The reactions from Mrs. Obama, Senator Warren, and Gene Wu only serve to highlight the true colors of the progressive left. When faced with a ruling that goes against their narrative, they resort to nonsensical arguments and personal attacks. It’s a reminder of why we should celebrate landmark rulings like this one, as they expose the true nature of the activist left. Let’s hope that more decisions like this will continue to dismantle the flawed ideology of the progressive agenda.
