Teachers Unions Panic Over Trump Victory NEA Hosts Webinar On Defeating His Second Term Agenda

Left-wing activists appear to be experiencing a breakdown of epic proportions following Donald Trump’s recent victory in the 2024 election. Not surprisingly, teachers’ unions are leading the charge in this melodramatic fiesta of woe. When Trump clenched the win, American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten unleashed a whirlwind of despair, claiming the country is more divided than ever and that democracy itself is teetering on the brink. For her, fear and anger seem to be the new national anthem, despite the fact that a majority of voters apparently favored the orange-hued, tweeting titan over Kamala Harris.

The latest entry in the teachers union’s anxiety-ridden saga is a webinar hosted by the National Education Association (NEA) titled “Preparing for a Second Trump Administration.” It sounds like a terrible B-movie sequel, but instead of horror, it’s all about panic and panic-driven policies. The session kicked off with a land acknowledgment led by a transgender activist who threw in accusations of “settler colonialism”—as if that’s what the great American experience really hinges on. The heady narrative that Trump is out to make “land grabs” fits snugly into the Democrats’ favorite playbook: whatever Trump does, it’s inherently evil.

As the NEA’s webinar trudged on, it maneuvered into an avalanche of woke discussions. One major highlight involved supporting illegal immigrant students against the tapping heels of the Trump administration. One speaker boldly declared that ICE’s deportation actions would be “shocking to people” and asked educators to help calm the jitters of students who might, gasp, face consequences for illegal entry. Apparently, the solution here is to simply increase the number of counselors—because clearly, throwing more money and resources into the mix will effectively mask the reality of breaking the law.

The discussions didn’t stop there. Apparently, in the NEA’s universe, teaching students about “social and racial justice” is the new “true history.” Dissenting views on such topics are merely seen as unpopular or radical. One speaker, targeting Oklahoma State Superintendent Ryan Walters, claimed that any pushback against this extreme ideology is nothing short of a circus. This leads to a delightful twist where the familial advocates for parental rights are branded as “extremists.” It seems the real danger in Indoctrination Land isn’t extremist ideologies but rather parents wanting a say in their children’s education.

Further drowning in the depths of ideological turmoil, one representative from the NEA even proudly declared that they had prepared for “the worst part of the school culture wars.” Unbelievably, she labeled parental rights groups as the real problem. In a twist that resembles a soap opera plotline, the ACLU representative touted their fight against legislation that prevents the flying of pride flags in classrooms. The ACLU gleefully boasted about already having plans in place to “combat” Trump long before the election even started. Claiming that the second Trump administration will be “worse” than the first borders on a dystopian novel plot.

Finally, the stellar performances didn’t end without a mic-drop moment. A certain NEA speaker boldly proclaimed her allegiance to the pride flag, stating it would fly high (along with the trans and Black Lives Matter flags) in her classroom regardless of opposition. It’s a level of commitment that would make a superhero blush. The NEA’s evolution into a far-left advocacy organization might just have obscured its original mission of educating kids. As Erika Sanzi of Parents Defending Education noted, the organization’s focus has pivoted far away from learning; it’s now simply another arm of leftist ideology bathed in panic over Trump’s resurgence. A little self-reflection might be in order, especially when trying to decipher how Trump emerged victorious yet again.
