Once again, the liberal co-hosts of “The View” are showing their ignorance and proposing a new amendment to the US Constitution to try and keep former President Donald Trump out of office in 2024. Despite the fact that Trump currently holds a lead in the polls for the 2024 presidential race, Whoopi Goldberg and Sunny Hostin are assuming that he will be convicted of federal crimes and jailed. With no evidence to back up their claims, they are proposing a new amendment to restrict the rights of a candidate who hasn’t been convicted of a crime.

Of course, the co-hosts conveniently ignore the fact that the Constitution can already be amended through the proper process laid out in Article V. But this isn’t about following the Constitution for them – it’s about trying to stop someone they don’t like from being elected. They are perfectly willing to twist the Constitution to their own ends, as they have done in misrepresenting the debate between originalists and supporters of a “living Constitution.”

It’s clear that the co-hosts of “The View” don’t have much confidence in President Joe Biden to beat Trump in a 2024 rematch, since they are proposing a new amendment out of fear that Biden would lose. It’s also ironic that they claim to be concerned about people who don’t read the Constitution or understand the law winding up in the White House, when they so clearly demonstrate their own ignorance by proposing a blatantly unconstitutional amendment.
In the end, this is just another attempt by the left to manipulate the rules to suit their own agenda. Rather than trying to undermine our Constitution, they should focus on presenting a positive and compelling vision for the future of our country.
