As the Trump administration slogs through the ongoing mess left behind by the Biden era, it faces not just external challenges but also a formidable internal resistance. This resistance, found predominantly in Democrat strongholds, seems to have made it their mission to prioritize the rights of illegal immigrants over the safety and security of American citizens. It’s perplexing and decidedly ironic that these political leaders cloak their actions in buzzwords like “progress” and “empathy,” while their policies cater to those who blatantly disregard U.S. laws.
Take the antics of various sanctuary cities as a case study. These haven zones for illegal immigrants have been caught red-handed, all in the name of protecting the undeserving from the consequences of their actions. Meanwhile, good old-fashioned law and order once again takes a backseat. This doesn’t simply represent a disagreement over policies; it borders on criminal behavior. The applause these mayors receive for their disregard for federal law says more about their priorities than any cheesy soundbite can convey.
Organizations like the Community Self-Defense Coalition have taken it a step further, training anti-ICE activists with the hope that their method of flouting federal immigration laws becomes the national playbook. Seattle Antifa even caught wind of this and is eager to borrow the ineffective playbook for their own mischief in the Pacific Northwest. Recent reports reveal these so-called activists are not just organizing protests; they are going so far as to document and shame federal agents with posters that expose their identities. If that does not scream “criminal behavior,” what does?
On the flip side, while blue state leaders scramble to shield the very worst among us—a veritable lineup of violent offenders—there are efforts tirelessly underway to identify and discipline leakers who impede enforcement actions. It’s reassuring to know that not all federal entities are asleep at the wheel. The rumor mill suggests that at least some wrongdoing on the part of these leakers won’t go unpunished. It’s a tiny silver lining amidst a gathering storm of lawlessness from those mayors who can’t seem to quit their absurd pandering.
