Trump and Biden Tied in Latest 2024 Poll as Democrats Waver on Biden Nomination

In the latest poll released by The Washington Post/ABC News/Ipsos, it seems that former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden are locked in a fierce battle for the nation’s popular vote. The poll, which surveyed registered voters about their preferences for the 2024 presidential election, found both candidates tied at 46 percent support. This result is reminiscent of a previous poll from April, where Trump had a slight lead over Biden.

Interestingly, the polling data also revealed that a significant number of Democrats are losing faith in Biden. Following a lackluster debate performance filled with rambling and false claims, many Democrats are calling for Biden to step down as the presumptive nominee. The survey indicated that a majority of Americans, including Biden’s own supporters, believe that it may be time for him to make way for a new candidate.

Congressional Democrats, such as Rep. Brad Schneider (D-IL), have joined the chorus of voices urging Biden to reconsider his bid for the presidency. Schneider emphasized the importance of not risking a loss to Trump and highlighted the need for a fresh vision for the future. With the stakes so high, Democrats are feeling the pressure to rally behind a candidate who can ensure the defense of democracy and lead the nation forward.

The poll, conducted from July 5 to July 9, 2024, among 2,431 U.S. adults, has a margin of error of ± two percent. It appears that the political landscape is as tumultuous and uncertain as ever, with both parties grappling with internal divisions and strategic decisions as they gear up for the upcoming election.
