The legal battle over whether former President Donald Trump’s name can appear on Michigan’s presidential primary ballot continues to heat up, as a group of conservative activists is now petitioning the state Supreme Court to overturn a lower court ruling that would have kept Trump off the ballot.
In a plea filed on Thursday, the attorneys representing these patriotic Michiganders are seeking an expedited appeal, urgently requesting the Supreme Court to make a decision by December 1. Their goal is simple: reverse the lower court’s decision and force a deeper review of the evidence regarding Trump’s eligibility for the ballot.
The group behind this effort understands that time is of the essence, as the deadline for finalizing and printing the ballots looms. They argue that with the potential for additional appeals, there’s simply no time for the back-and-forth of the lower courts. It’s a smart move – after all, this is about ensuring the fairness and integrity of the presidential primary election.

The liberal group Free Speech for People, on the other hand, seems to be on a mission to disrupt the electoral process by suing Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson to block Trump from the ballot. Their basis for this legal action? The 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which they claim prohibits individuals from running for federal office if they’ve been involved in insurrection.
Thankfully, Court of Claims Judge James Redford saw through this far-fetched argument and rightfully rejected it. He made it clear that it’s Congress’s responsibility, not the courts’, to make such determinations. It’s refreshing to see a judge who understands the proper role of each branch of government, unlike those liberal activists who keep overstepping their bounds.
To no one’s surprise, the Trump campaign has labeled these legal challenges as nothing more than a desperate attempt to suppress the will of the American people. It’s a shame that these sore losers can’t accept the fact that Trump remains a popular and legitimate choice for voters.
What’s even more troubling is that these efforts to keep Trump off the ballot are being fueled by wealthy, liberal interest groups. It’s a classic case of well-funded activists trying to undermine the democratic process and manipulate the electoral system to fulfill their own agenda. But rest assured, true patriots are standing up to defend the rights of all voters and ensure that every candidate has a fair shot at earning the people’s support.
In the end, this battle is about more than just Trump’s name on a ballot – it’s a fight for the principles of democracy, fairness, and the rule of law. Let’s hope the Michigan Supreme Court sees through the partisan games and upholds the rights of all candidates and voters. After all, that’s what true American justice is all about.
