In a new ad released by former President Donald Trump’s campaign, they’re taking a swing at President Biden’s handling of border enforcement. The ad, named “Burning Down,” claims that Biden’s “open borders” approach has led to terror threats and fentanyl traffickers sneaking into the country, creating chaos right in our own backyard. The narrator in the ad paints a grim picture, suggesting that Biden’s leniency has opened the floodgates to record numbers of people, including terrorists and fentanyl traffickers, and even raised the possibility of a Hamas attack.
The ad reminds viewers of Trump’s vow to secure the border and build a wall on the southern border. They’re really hammering home Trump’s promises to keep the country safe and secure from these threats.
Trump promised a big ol’ wall, and although some of it did get built, Mexico didn’t foot the bill as promised. The important thing, according to this ad, is that Trump had the right idea, and he’s the man for the job.
The ad drops in the midst of Border Patrol processing nearly 50,000 immigrants who entered the U.S. illegally in just five days last week. And in November, Border Patrol snagged over 191,000 immigrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border. That’s a lot of people! It’s like a never-ending flow of folks just walking in, and that has the Trump team all worked up. They want to make sure that everyone knows just how out of control things have gotten at the border.
Tensions are high in Congress too, with Senators butting heads over border security measures. The Republicans are adamant about drastic actions to curb immigration, while the Democrats are accusing the Republicans of wanting to make wild changes to legal immigration in the country.
