Former President Donald Trump shared his thoughts regarding recent charges against Hunter Biden on Monday night. Hunter Biden, the son of President Joe Biden, has been charged with falsifying tax returns and possessing a firearm while using a controlled substance. Trump criticized the mainstream media for not covering the story and denounced what he called a two-tiered justice system that benefits the Biden family.
According to Trump, “It’s the most corrupt administration in the history of this country, there has never been anything like it. Millions and millions of dollars paid to the family and Joe, and it’s a disgrace and the media doesn’t pick it up. You pick it up, and Newsmax has been great, actually… but nobody’s picking it up, they just don’t want to talk about it.”
Hunter Biden has been under investigation by the IRS since 2018. Last week, he reached an agreement with prosecutors, admitting guilt to two misdemeanor tax fraud charges and one felony charge of possessing a firearm while using a controlled substance. As part of the plea deal, Hunter Biden will be sent to a pre-trial diversion program, which allows him to avoid prison time.
President Trump has previously criticized the plea deal, calling it a mere “traffic ticket” on Truth Social. The former president’s latest comments suggest that the allegations against President Biden will continue to dog him long after his son’s case is closed. Emails obtained from President Biden’s time as Vice President show that Hunter Biden and his business associates were keeping the Obama administration abreast of their latest overseas business deals, giving the elder Biden plenty of advance notice about his son’s activity.

House Republicans continue to call for witnesses as they try to substantiate a witness form from the FBI that contained the original allegation. Oversight Committee Chair James Comer (R-KY) also plans to call for testimony from Justice Department officials he says obstructed the government’s investigation into Hunter Biden. The allegations against the Biden family suggest a significant breach of trust that raises questions about the ethics and integrity of the current administration.
