Trump Chooses JD Vance as VP for 2024 Amid Ukraine Policy Clash

So, former President Donald Trump has picked his right-hand man for the 2024 presidential run, and surprise, surprise, it’s none other than Senator J.D. Vance. Known for his no-nonsense, America-first attitude, Vance has been a vocal critic of Biden’s blank-check approach to Ukraine. In fact, he outright said he doesn’t care what happens to Ukraine, prioritizing American interests over Biden’s foreign misadventures.

Vance, riding high after being handpicked by Trump for his Senate seat in Ohio, has consistently pushed back against the endless flow of U.S. dollars across the Atlantic. Right after getting elected, he didn’t waste time pointing out that propping up Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is a fool’s errand. According to Vance, Zelensky is only continuing this expensive nightmare because Biden keeps sending him toys to play with.

Fast forward to the Munich Security Conference in February, and there was Vance, the lone wolf among the U.S. congressional delegation, skipping a meet-and-greet with Zelensky. Instead, he took to the stage to pound the message home: There’s no clear endpoint in Ukraine. Meanwhile, House Speaker Mike Johnson was holding up a vote on a $95 billion package, most of which was earmarked for Ukraine. Vance’s stance was clear—it’s not just about money; the U.S. simply doesn’t have the munitions to sustain this charade, especially with China looming large on the horizon.

Instead of the Ukraine cheerleading squad, Vance argues for a negotiated peace. Hours after being named Trump’s VP pick, he laid out the master plan on Fox News. In Trump, he trusts—believing the artful dealmaker can hammer out peace with Russia and Ukraine, letting America refocus on the real threat: China. Vance suggests Trump can swiftly bring the conflict to a close and stop America from bleeding resources in Europe.

Of course, this kind of talk has sent the anti-Trump brigade into a frenzy. Adam Kinzinger, a professional Trump hater, was practically apoplectic on Stephen Colbert’s show, accusing Vance of regurgitating Russian talking points and celebrating the reunion of Trump with his running mate in Moscow. The pearl-clutching is reaching epic proportions, with Zelensky airing concern on Bloomberg Television, fretting that if Trump wins, Ukraine could be left high and dry without U.S. support.

Even Trump’s former national security adviser, John Bolton, who seems to have gone soft, is whining about Vance’s approach to Ukraine. Bolton, who evidently prefers perpetual conflict, gripes that Vance doesn’t appreciate the “American national security interests” in Ukraine. Meanwhile, Senator Tom Cotton reassures that Vance, like any right-thinking conservative, believes a strong and confident America shouldn’t be bogged down by endless foreign entanglements.

The left may be in panic mode, but the rest of America can breathe easier knowing Trump and Vance see the bigger picture. They understand that propping up Zelensky isn’t in America’s best interest, and they’re prepared to focus on the real existential threat: China. Unlike the current administration, they won’t keep sacrificing American prosperity and security on the altar of globalist fantasies.
