John McGuire. The primary has garnered significant attention, with former President Donald Trump endorsing McGuire and expressing his dissatisfaction with Good.
Trump’s dissatisfaction with Good stems from Good’s initial endorsement of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in the presidential primary and his subsequent endorsement of Trump after DeSantis dropped out. However, Trump has thrown his full support behind McGuire, criticizing Good’s track record and voicing his endorsement for McGuire. Good, on the other hand, still seeks to align himself as pro-Trump and has expressed confidence in his reelection.

Good, who has represented the district for two terms, is facing a traditional primary contest for the first time. He has received support from local GOP officials but has also lost some support in his home counties. McGuire, a former Navy SEAL, has positioned himself as “100% America First” and emphasized his commitment to helping Trump win Virginia in the general election.
