Donald Trump is once again proving he can play the game just as well as the Democrats. Despite his longstanding feud with the establishment media, Trump’s legal team is now demanding that his upcoming criminal case be televised. In a motion filed by his attorneys, they argue that every person in America and beyond should have the opportunity to witness the trial firsthand and watch as Trump exonerates himself from these politically motivated charges.
However, special counsel Jack Smith is not on board with this idea. He claims that televising the trial would impede the fair administration of justice. But let’s be honest, when it comes to Democrats in 2023, fairness is not their strong suit. The truth is that Smith and his team are more interested in securing a conviction against Trump, effectively removing him as President Biden’s most influential political opposition.

The case against Trump stems from his alleged role in the Capitol incursion on January 6, 2021. He is facing charges of conspiracy to defraud the United States, obstruction of an official proceeding, and conspiracy against rights. Trump’s legal team has been pushing for cameras in the courtroom since August, arguing that all Americans should be able to see what’s happening in our criminal justice system. The motion filed by Trump’s lawyers reads like a political broadside, calling out the prosecution for its biased and secretive actions.
Trump’s request for a televised trial is not without irony. After all, it was House Democrats and Nancy Pelosi’s biased committee that took to the airwaves in a desperate attempt to convict Trump in the court of public opinion. But their show trial failed, and Trump continues to lead in the Republican primary polls. What Democrats fear the most is that a televised trial will expose the corruption within the Justice Department under the Biden administration and reveal Trump’s innocence. And that would completely flip the script.
