It’s an example of how the left has infused partisan politics into institutions that ought to remain immune to such nonsense. Backing Trump’s efforts is Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who has been vocal in his support for reinstating military standards devoid of the trendy, socially conscious mumbo jumbo that has seeped inside military ranks. Instead, he’s calling for a return to meritocracy, where performance, rather than identity, dictates advancement.
