In a speech delivered in West Palm Beach, Florida, former President Donald Trump did not hold back in his criticism of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Trump accused Netanyahu of failing to assist the United States in its efforts to eliminate Iranian General Qasem Soleimani. Furthermore, he claimed that Netanyahu was unprepared for the recent Hamas terror attacks in which over 1,200 innocent lives were lost.

Trump expressed his disappointment, stating, “I’ll never forget that Bibi Netanyahu let us down. That was a very terrible thing.” He went on to criticize the intelligence and actions of the Israeli government, emphasizing the need for them to rectify their mistakes. Trump also expressed his annoyance at Netanyahu attempting to take credit for the successful operation to eliminate Soleimani.
In his speech, Trump took the opportunity to mock President Joe Biden, asserting that if he were still in office, the attacks would never have occurred. Trump claimed to be Israel’s strongest ally and blamed the current chaos and bloodshed on the “crooked” Biden administration. He concluded by remarking on the consequences of Netanyahu’s lack of preparedness, stating, “That was not a good thing for him or for anybody.”
Notably, Florida Governor and GOP presidential candidate Ron DeSantis also weighed in on the matter, denouncing any criticism of Israel amidst the ongoing terrorist threat. DeSantis strongly condemned the Hamas terrorists responsible for the attacks, emphasizing that it was inappropriate for anyone, especially a presidential hopeful, to praise them as “very smart.”
