The Clintons’ comment about focusing on what’s “bigger than the results of any one election” seemed like a valiant effort to save face. After all, acknowledging that they lost doesn’t exactly bolster their star-studded image. Of course, while they wished Trump a smooth transition, it sounded more like the Democrats were hoping he might trip down the stairs in the process. The reality is, Trump didn’t just win; he obliterated the Democrats in battleground states, popular votes, and the electoral count—talk about a clean sweep!
Even President Biden, one of the last holdouts to sidestep reality, decided to add his two cents after the dust had settled. With all the grace of a hippo on ice skates, Biden mused about his choice of Harris as the first decision he made as a candidate. Claiming this was the best decision he made only adds fuel to the fire. It’s hard to see how that’s going to go down in history, considering the monumental impact of their failed campaign. His insistence that Harris represents the “best of America” sounds more like a plea rather than a proud proclamation.
