Former President Donald Trump has once again taken a tough stance on border security, promising that if he is re-elected, he will execute the “largest domestic deportation operation in American history.” Trump specifically mentioned President Dwight D. Eisenhower, praising his tough approach to the border. He also stated that he would invoke the Alien Enemies Act to remove known or suspected gang members from the country. Trump highlighted the threat posed by MS-13, declaring that he would eradicate illegal alien gang violence.

This promise from Trump comes at a time when border officials are facing an overwhelming number of encounters with migrants. Just on Sunday, they encountered nearly 10,000 migrants, with significant numbers in Texas and Arizona. The surge in border crossings has been a consistent issue throughout September, despite the Biden administration’s previous claims that their border policies were effective. Texas Governor Greg Abbott has responded to the situation by ordering the reinstallation of a razor wire fence in Eagle Pass. He has also deployed the Texas National Guard and plans to ship illegal aliens to “sanctuary cities” and states.
It’s clear that the Biden administration’s border policies are failing. The surge in encounters at the border demonstrates the need for stronger measures to curb illegal immigration.
