In a victory for common sense, a federal appeals panel has made the right call by allowing Tennessee to enforce a law that restricts irreversible, experimental transgender care for children. The Sixth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati clearly understands the importance of protecting our young ones from dangerous and potentially life-altering medical procedures.

Previously, a judge had foolishly blocked components of the law, but thankfully, the appeals court has overturned that decision. Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti rightly declared it a “big win” for the state, recognizing that Tennessee is likely to win the constitutional argument and the case as a whole. It’s about time our legal system prioritizes the well-being and safety of our children over political correctness.

This ruling is only temporary, as a full review of the appeal is still pending. However, there is hope that by September 30, this important case will be resolved in favor of protecting children from harmful transgender treatments. It is crucial that we stand strong against this disturbing trend of pushing irreversible medical interventions on vulnerable children.
Tennessee lawmakers took action after learning that Vanderbilt University Medical Center was providing transgender surgeries and treatments for profit. This blatant disregard for the well-being of children is outrageous. It is high time we put an end to the medicalization of gender confusion in minors and prioritize their mental and physical health above all else.
It is worth noting that Tennessee is not alone in taking a stand against transgender treatments for minors. More than 20 other states have enacted similar legislation, recognizing the ethical concerns surrounding hormone therapy, puberty blockers, and sex reassignment surgeries for children. Clearly, the majority of Americans agree with these safeguards.
In fact, according to a recent Gallup poll, 55 percent of Americans believe that “changing one’s gender” is morally wrong. This sentiment is even stronger than in previous years, with a growing number of people recognizing the potential harm and long-term consequences of these procedures. It is heartening to see that the public is waking up to the dangers of the transgender agenda.
In the end, this decision by the appeals court is a step in the right direction. Let us hope that the full review will solidify Tennessee’s ability to protect its children and serve as a model for other states to follow. We must prioritize the well-being and future of our youths rather than cave to the whims of a radical ideology.
