White House Shrugs Off New Hunter Biden Scoop: Truth or Conspiracy Theory?

President Joe Biden is facing scrutiny once again as a new report from the House Oversight Committee reveals that he received a $40,000 check from his family members shortly after Chinese business associates gave them money. The White House, however, is dismissing the report, calling it “desperate” and labeling the committee chairman’s claims as “lies.” In a video posted to Twitter, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer announced that bank records between the Biden family and their Chinese business associates show that Biden took $40,000 of Chinese money in September 2017.

White House spokesman for oversight and investigations, Sams, took to Twitter to respond to the report, stating, “Comer’s lies and conspiracy theories are getting more desperate by the day. Perhaps that’s why yesterday he admitted his probe was going ‘downhill.'” Sams also mentioned that the report has been “widely debunked” for over a week and referenced an article from The Messenger. The report reveals that a previous discovery by Comer of a $200,000 payment to Biden from his brother was deemed a loan payment by the family’s lawyers.

This news comes as the president’s son, Hunter Biden, has been in the spotlight for his foreign business dealings. In September 2017, Hunter Biden informed a property manager that he was “office mates” with Joe Biden and a Chinese business associate. Chairman Comer, in the video, states, “Well, not only did he lie about his son Hunter making money in China, but it also turns out that $40,000 in laundered China money landed in Joe Biden’s bank account in the form of a personal check.” Comer goes on to detail the flow of money, explaining that a Chinese company associated with CEFC wired $5,000,000 to a joint venture established by Hunter Biden and a CEFC associate. From there, the money was further divided and eventually ended up in Joe Biden’s bank account.

The White House, however, is not only dismissing the House Oversight Committee report but also a trove of documents released by the House Ways and Means Committee. These documents, totaling 700 pages, back up claims from IRS whistleblowers regarding the Department of Justice’s handling of an investigation into Hunter Biden’s alleged offenses. Sams labeled the documents as a “staged stunt” meant to distract from a potential government shutdown. “Another total bust. Zero evidence of wrongdoing by Joe Biden. And they can’t even answer basic questions without snapping,” Sams tweeted in response to the release of the documents.

As the Biden administration continues to face accusations and investigations surrounding the president and his family’s financial dealings, the White House remains steadfast in its dismissal of these reports, labeling them as “desperate” and “lies.” However, the public will be eagerly watching to see how these allegations play out and if any evidence of wrongdoing emerges.
