After months of speculation, Donald Trump was finally indicted on Thursday. It is widely expected that the investigation is a witch hunt, and the Department of Justice, under the leadership of Joe Biden, is determined to find ways to undermine the president. This type of injustice is quickly becoming the new norm in American politics.
Regardless of the shouting, Donald Trump has been indicted. A trial date is set for next year, and if it's not planned for this year, Trump will have multiple trials. Each trial is more absurd and vicious than the last. The real question isn't if he's been indicted, but how the Republican Party will perform once the former frontrunner is.
If Donald Trump gets the nomination, how will the Republican Party campaign without being hounded by questions about him? If the Democrats can make this a recurring issue, America could be in for a dystopian future.
The leak of details about the indictment is a clear example of how the Department of Justice is incapable of following proper procedures. Their investigative team is a sieve, and they have been leaking information to the media in order to make a story out of it. Also, the indictment was dropped right around the time that we discovered proof that Joe Biden had been involved in a corruption scheme. It is a waste of resources and gross negligence.
Trump is facing various charges, such as conspiracy to obstruct, false statements, and fraudulent statements. According to Maggie Haberman of the New York Times, there are multiple charges against Trump, and one of these is obstruction of justice. In addition to obstruction, other charges state that Trump willful retain records.

Who among the other people being charged with crimes will support Trump in court? Is this individual a threat to Biden's Department of Justice? It takes a lot of hard work and resources to take down a major government agency, let alone one that has unlimited resources against you. Someone close to the investigation might be able to strike a deal that would end the case.
Finally, there is also a debate about the Espionage Act. The various charges and the leak of details about the indictment have created a complicated picture of the legal battle that will be waged against Trump, even though he is no more in office.
