In response to the outcry from the LGBT community, AMC Theaters decided to remove the highly-anticipated documentary "No Way Back" from its program. The 90-minute film, which was supposed to be shown in select theaters, was pulled from the screens after the QueerTransProject launched an online campaign against it.
The documentary featured the experiences of individuals who transitioned or became detransitioned. Laura Becker criticized AMC for its stance on free speech. She noted that viewpoints and ideas that are considered controversial or hard to deal with are being suppressed.
At 19 years old, Becker began to transition from being a man to being a woman. After being diagnosed with PTSD, she decided to detransition. She believes there is a lot of common sense and boundaries that transgender people should be able to obliterate when it comes to their health.
According to Becker, kids are being fast-tracked into a system that involves hormone therapy and surgery, which can result in long-term psychological damage. The documentary included interviews with individuals who transitioned and experts in the field.
The campaign was carried out by the QueerTransProject, which urged people to write letters and protest against the film's screening at AMC. The group noted that its success had a significant effect on the environment by fostering a more accepting and respectful atmosphere.

Some of the film's producers are gay and have children. However, they claim that the documentary is not against transgender people. Instead, it is about the sudden rush to get major surgery and powerful drugs without considering the effects of these procedures on individuals' health. The decision to remove the film from the program is further proof of the left's illiberalism and intolerance. It is time to stand up to the censorship and manipulation of free speech in the country.
