Americans are fed up with the federal government’s heavy-handed meddling in their children’s education. A new poll makes it clear: nearly 80 percent of voters want critical education decisions made closer to home, not by some out-of-touch bureaucrats in Washington. This overwhelming rejection of federal control proves what conservatives have been saying for years—local control is the only way to restore common sense and parental authority in schools.
It’s laughable, really, how a mere 11 percent of voters want the federal government running the show on standards and curriculum. This is the same government that’s pushed radical ideologies, coddled failing teachers’ unions, and allowed classrooms to become battlegrounds of escalating violence. The fact that a majority of Americans place their trust in parents, local school districts, and state officials reflects a growing backlash against the left’s destructive agenda and the nanny state’s endless grip on education. True patriots know education isn’t some one-size-fits-all program handed down by bureaucrats; it’s about community values and empowering families.

Despite the liberal establishment thinking they hold all the power, it’s revealing how just 13 percent of Democrats believe parents should lead on education policy—barely a fraction compared to a third of Republicans. But even some Democrats and independents are waking up and siding with states and localities over Washington’s interference. This growing sentiment is a direct threat to the progressive stranglehold on our schools. Liberals want to cram radical gender politics and anti-American nonsense into every classroom. By pushing federal control, they aim to silence parents and bulldoze any resistance from concerned citizens. The public isn’t buying it anymore.
The Trump administration deserves credit for taking bold steps to slash the bloated Education Department and return power to the states. Firing over 1,300 federal employees tied to education, transferring programs to more appropriate agencies—it’s all part of shrinking a government out of control and obsessed with indoctrination. While radical left-wing politicians and entrenched education bureaucrats cry foul, these moves put America back on the right path. If anything, the federal government has no business micromanaging classrooms when so many schools are failing our kids.
This poll should send a stark warning to Washington elites: the American people won’t tolerate any more interference in their schools. Parents—rightfully furious—want to take back their role in raising the next generation, free from federal overreach and liberal nonsense. Schools should be places of learning, not political battlegrounds. It’s about time we said enough is enough. Will the swamp listen? Or will they keep trying to force-feed their anti-American agenda to our children? The answer is clear: America wants its education back.
