Our country’s toxic empathy has backfired spectacularly, leaving the nation wondering if there are actual background checks or if they’re simply handing out citizenship like candy on Halloween. It’s a plot so wild, they could call it “The Year We Lost Our Minds.” Five terrifying incidents have stampeded through the headlines, each more baffling than the last.
First stop on this terrifying tour is the Lone Star State. Austin, Texas faced a shocking mass murder where the suspect, proudly donning a “property of a law” sweatshirt, decided to switch from obeying laws to breaking them in the most horrifying way. Despite plenty of warning signs suggesting he may not quite fit the Texan mold, there he was, turning a peaceful community into a scene straight out of an action movie. The suspect hailed from Sagal, a place that’s probably wondering why their travel brochure didn’t mention anything about background checks.
Next, we jet off to Kansas City, where the airport had to be closed because of, you guessed it, a bomb threat. The New York City incident reads like a twisted plot. Two teenagers, fueled by ISIS inspiration, decided to redefine what peace meant by turning peaceful protests into a testing ground for IEDs. Of course, the blame somehow boomeranged back to white supremacy, because why not spice things up with some good ol’ scapegoating? Meanwhile, Old Dominion University had its own hyper-real story unfold. A young man from Sierra Leone, who arguably should’ve been enjoying liberty’s blessings quietly, instead took a page out of an ISIS manual, planning his ‘big debut’ in a style reminiscent of a blockbuster gone wrong. Notably, his resume included being a convicted ISIS member—and guess what? He received an honorable pass to stay.
Finally, we arrive at a Michigan synagogue that nearly became a tragedy, starring a man with IEDs in his car, smashing through a school. Thankfully, a quick-thinking security guard ended this horror before it could spiral. But naturally, in the spirit of this bewildering year, word is that this man was part of the skyrocketing population in Dearborn where blending into the American landscape is as easy as blending into a crowd. It’s modern math that leaves you with just one answer: complete madness.
Meanwhile, the bureaucratic soap opera chugs along with Democrats making their ‘contribution’ by defunding key security from DHS, to TSA, to the Coast Guards. It’s almost as if they’re rooting for chaos. America, it’s time to face facts. We have a treasure in this country that’s being threatened by those who should never have been here in the first place. Yet here we are, rolling out the welcome mat to those who’re eager to inch us closer to disaster. The solution’s as plain as day: smarter policies, tougher scrutiny, and a reminder to safeguard what’s ours.
