New York Governor Kathy Hochul is using her power to threaten Walgreens and other pharmacies in the state with “consequences” if they refuse to distribute an abortion-inducing drug. This comes after Republican attorneys general threatened the company with legal action. Hochul’s comments on CNN This Morning with Don Lemon showed that she is determined to protect abortion rights in New York, no matter the cost.

Hochul's remarks suggest that Democrats are prepared to take drastic measures to safeguard abortion rights. The FDA recently permitted pharmacies to provide mifepristone, but Republican Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey joined a group of states in opposing the move. GenBioPro, the manufacturer of mifepristone, has taken legal action against states that have banned chemical abortions, contending that the FDA's classification should supersede state laws under the Constitution's Commerce Clause.

It is clear that Democrats are willing to use their power to protect abortion rights, even if it means going against the will of the people. In this case, Walgreens was threatened with legal action and economic consequences if they did not comply with the demands of the Democratic party. This is a dangerous precedent to set and shows a disregard for the rule of law.
The decision by California Governor Gavin Newsom to halt business with Walgreens due to their decision to stop distributing mifepristone is further proof of the Democrats’ extreme tactics. This decision caused Walgreens stock to drop by 1.77%, according to Newsweek. It is clear that Democrats are willing to use economic pressure to get their way, even if it means punishing innocent companies and individuals.
Democratic governors such as Kathy Hochul and Gavin Newsom's actions are a violation of our democratic principles and an assault on our liberties. It is inappropriate for elected officials to leverage their authority to intimidate corporations and individuals who hold opposing political views. We need to defend our rights and ensure that our government upholds the wishes of the populace.
