Staff ReportsWhen it comes to foreign policy, liberals keep proving they’re in way over their heads. Case in point: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez at the Munich Security Conference. If you missed it, you’re lucky—the train wreck on display was twenty seconds of pure, cringe-worthy discomfort. Not only did AOC stumble through a basic question about defending Taiwan, but she exposed just how shallow the left’s approach really is.
Watching her grasp for words, Americans should worry. Democrats love to parade these media celebrities who speak in empty slogans, but when pressed for real answers, the mask slips. Suddenly, there’s no Green New Deal or utopian buzzwords to hide behind. It becomes painfully obvious that the so-called “future” of the Democratic Party doesn’t have an ounce of substance when it comes to facing down real threats from China or even knowing our role in Europe.

While AOC walked on stage with all the confidence of a Twitter influencer, she wilted in the face of genuine policy questions. Her awkward, halting response wasn’t just embarrassing—it was downright dangerous for America’s standing on the world stage. The world is watching, and what they saw was weakness and indecision. Democrats embrace flashy personalities and media darlings, but at crunch time, they’re exposed as clueless.
Contrast this with the last administration, where America led with backbone, not buzzwords. Our enemies knew where we stood, and our allies respected our strength. That’s because real leaders aren’t afraid to study the facts, make hard choices, and look out for America first. What a difference from today’s performance-art politics, where the left would rather be loved by journalists than prepared for a foreign crisis.
It’s time we demand more from our so-called leaders—or will we keep trusting America’s future to amateurs who can’t even survive a simple question on live TV?
