Ben Carson Sees Growth in Black Voter Support for Trump by 2024

Former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson recently discussed the potential for former President Donald Trump to gain more support from black voters in the upcoming election. Carson suggested that Trump could appeal to black voters by addressing their concerns about inflation, crime, and immigration, which he believes are the same concerns shared by other voters.

Carson explained that black Americans, like all Americans, feel the impact of inflation when they fill up their gas tanks and experience the effects of rampant crime in their communities. He also highlighted the impact of border issues on black communities and expressed the belief that Trump’s focus on these issues could attract more support from black voters.

Carson predicted that Trump would receive a higher percentage of the black vote in the upcoming election compared to the 2020 election. He referenced a Wall Street Journal poll which indicated that 30% of black voters were considering voting for Trump, a significant shift from the 2020 election when President Joe Biden secured 92% of the black vote.

The potential for Trump to gain more support from black voters is significant, especially considering that black voters are expected to make up 14% of eligible voters in the 2024 election, up from 13.5% in 2020 according to the Pew Research Center.

Overall, Carson’s assessment suggests that Trump has the potential to make significant strides in gaining support from black voters by addressing their concerns and aligning himself with their interests.
