Biden Admin’s $20B Green Fund Fuels Criticism and FBI Probe into Newcomer Organizations

The Biden administration has been busy tinkering with green ideology, but it seems their enthusiasm for funding environmental groups has led to a concoction of questionable decisions — and a staggering $20 billion bill. Reports are now surfacing that much of this cash has been funneled to environmental organizations started just months prior to receiving these hefty checks. It’s almost as if the White House set up a game of Monopoly, with taxpayer dollars being doled out to the newest players on the board.

Take the Climate United Fund, for example. This group, hailing from Bethesda, Maryland, came into existence just last November and was miraculously awarded close to $7 billion by none other than then-Vice President Kamala Harris a mere five months later. It seems odd that a new organization without so much as a sign in the IRS’s charities database would command such a hefty sum. But in the land of Bidenomics, this type of cozy arrangement appears to be par for the course.

The press release from this freshly minted organization trumpets its so-called “historic investment,” claiming it will lead to cleaner air and increased energy security. However, given the group’s tender age and lack of public accountability, many are left wondering exactly how that money will be spent. Sure, some projects like the $10.8 million solar loan scheme on Tribal lands and the $32 million solar project at the University of Arkansas have been announced. But those amounts are mere drops in the bucket compared to the ocean of cash they received.

Critics have raised eyebrows over this entire debacle. As Laurie Styron, the CEO of a charity watchdog group, pointed out, the ethical implications of creating these fly-by-night organizations are pretty troubling. Why shuffle around taxpayer cash through middlemen that have no track record, when there are established groups ready and waiting to use that money wisely? Styron isn’t the only one scratching their head at the apparent lack of oversight in what’s being dubbed the “green slush fund.”

John Podesta, a seasoned Washington operative with ties to many failed Democratic campaigns, was put in charge of this bountiful fund after his appointment by President Biden. One can only wonder what qualifications he brings to the table, especially considering he still looks to cash in on the radical climate agenda that has the country divided. Meanwhile, the Environmental Protection Agency’s own Brent Efron was caught on video expressing a sense of urgency to disperse funds as quickly as possible, likening it to tossing gold bars from the Titanic. Given that the Titanic was a disaster, one wonders if Efron thought this funding spree might follow suit.

Recently, the current EPA Director has begun an attempt to reclaim the money, calling for investigations amidst reports that both the FBI and the Department of Justice are now involved. It appears that attempts to bring this money back under government control, after it was handed out with what looks like the abandon of a high-stakes poker game, are underway. It seems even within the administration, there is a burgeoning realization that this green initiative might have gone too far, too fast — with far too few questions asked.
