President Joe Biden and his administration are once again proving that their open borders policy is an absolute disaster, and it’s not just conservative states like Arizona and Texas feeling the pain. The entire country, including Biden’s own big-city supporters, is suffering from the overwhelming influx of illegal immigrants.

In a recent debacle, New York City found itself in a dire situation when it had to house nearly 2,000 migrants from a camp at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn. The city was ill-prepared for the influx, especially given the harsh weather conditions in January. The tent city set up at Floyd Bennett Field was at risk of being decimated by “torrential rains and gusting winds,” forcing the migrants to be crammed into the second floor of a high school, causing the school to shut down and students to attend virtual classes.
The absurdity of the situation was not lost on the local community. Republican New York state Assembly candidate Thomas P. Sullivan rightfully called out the disastrous plan, which went against the warnings and concerns expressed by countless members of the community. It’s shocking, but not surprising, that the federal government and local leadership went ahead with this disastrous plan, disregarding the well-being of their own constituents in favor of virtue signaling.
Local residents voiced their outrage, with one resident expressing concern over potential safety risks posed by unvetted migrants with criminal backgrounds. Meanwhile, New York GOP Rep. Nicole Malliotakis condemned the Democrats for forcing students to take virtual classes to accommodate illegal immigrants, a sentiment echoed by many who are fed up with the left’s refusal to address the border crisis and its impact on Middle America.
It’s crystal clear that the Democrats have no qualms about burdening American citizens with the consequences of their failed policies. Instead of standing up for their constituents, they continue to prioritize the needs of illegal immigrants over the well-being of hardworking Americans. It’s time for the Democrats to face the consequences of their own misguided actions. If they’re willing to displace American high schoolers, why not displace themselves and their own families? It’s high time they put Americans first and put an end to this madness.
