The Biden White House is taking flak from all directions, but their most formidable opponents seem to be within their own party. Last Thursday night, President Biden’s disastrous debate performance ignited a storm of anger, frustration, and bewilderment. How could Donald Trump so thoroughly outmatch Biden? Instead of addressing their donors’ and supporters’ concerns, Team Biden decided to pour more fuel on the fire by spending the next few days boasting about the president’s health on various conference calls.
Let’s cut to the chase: Biden’s mental decline is no longer a secret that can be swept under the rug. In the past, some outlets tried to expose the president’s deteriorating condition, only for those reports to vanish into thin air. The Wall Street Journal was the latest to highlight Biden’s mental slippage, enraging liberals. Their report was vindicated during the recent debate, leaving everyone to wonder why this came as a shock. Voters knew Biden was too old back in February, so why the sudden surprise?
So the AP, Washington Post, NYT, The Hill, and CNN all published articles dismissing concerns over Biden’s appearance within just the last few weeks.
Now all of these same outlets are publishing stories about how these concerns are real and ongoing.

Mainstream media outlets—AP, Washington Post, NYT, The Hill, and CNN—have all synchronized their stories dismissing concerns over Biden’s mental acuity in recent weeks. Now, these same outlets are suddenly publishing stories acknowledging these very real and ongoing concerns. This flip-flopping only highlights a glaring problem: the media’s unwillingness to hold Biden accountable when it mattered most.
Jill Abramson, former executive editor of the New York Times, pointed out the glaring reason for this journalistic failure: fear of aiding Donald Trump. Journalists didn’t want their reporting on Biden’s decline to inadvertently help Trump. However, Abramson stressed this was no excuse for abandoning journalism’s primary duty—to report the truth and hold power accountable. Consequently, the Biden White House managed an impressive cover-up of the president’s deteriorating condition—an evasion that is both laughable and appalling.

The Biden administration’s handling of the press has only added to the chaos. They’ve kept the media at arm’s length, limiting interviews and press conferences. Reporters have found it challenging to gauge the president’s mental state in real-time because the White House has strategically shielded him. Biden’s rare interviews and carefully scripted appearances have rendered any genuine assessment nearly impossible.
The GOP and conservative media outlets have been talking about Biden’s age for years, and recent events have only confirmed those suspicions. Team Biden claimed deceptive editing was to blame for footage showing Biden “wandering off” at the G7, but the truth is more obvious. If the president were truly of sound mind, why is there so much secrecy? For instance, why haven’t they released the audio of Biden’s interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur regarding his classified documents probe?

The White House’s tactics of obfuscation, deflection, and gaslighting won’t hold up much longer. Biden has another debate with Trump and numerous public engagements as campaign season ramps up. One has to wonder if he’s even capable. At a fundraiser in McLean, Virginia, Biden blamed his lackluster performance on extensive travel and lack of sleep, despite sleeping and vacationing extensively leading up to the debate. Let’s face it: if traveling knocks you out that much, you shouldn’t be president.
In the end, the Wall Street Journal’s foresight deserves applause. They reported on Biden’s mental decline based on 45 sources, only to face fierce backlash from the White House. One debate later, and their assertions were vindicated. America deserves transparency and accountability, especially when it comes to the highest office in the land. The Biden administration’s cover-up, aided by a compliant media, has left the country blind-sided by what we all knew: Joe Biden is too old to lead.
