Biden Fails Israel Again, Hamas Smirks at Weak US Stance!

Once again, the Biden administration has neglected to provide assistance to Israel, our most vital ally, during the protracted conflict with Hamas. Unsurprisingly, following the administration's rejection of a United Nations Security Council resolution demanding a cessation of hostilities in Gaza, Hamas has retreated and refused to accept Israel's conditions for a hostage agreement.

An extreme departure from prior propositions, the resolution did not even demand that Hamas release Israeli hostages in exchange for a cessation of hostilities. Instead, a mere mention was made of the remaining hostages' release, which Hamas regarded as a significant triumph. I mean, really? Where is the responsibility for the militants who are committing the captivity of innocent individuals?

Countries such as South Africa, which is boldly initiating legal proceedings against Israel at the International Court of Justice, expressed their support for the resolution, further compounding the injury. They imprudently assert that Israel has committed "genocide" while conveniently disregarding the innumerable acts of terrorism orchestrated by Hamas.

After a ceasefire, Hamas has unequivocally stated that it will not contemplate the exchange of Israeli detainees for Palestinian terrorists. Such an absurdity! It is analogous to rewarding an abuser prior to their consenting to cease their negative conduct. Nevertheless, the mediators in the hostage negotiations, Egypt and Qatar, lauded the United Nations resolution, whereas Israel justly condemned it.

By its very nature, the resolution obligates Israel to concede defeat in its primary objective of neutralizing Hamas as a military menace. By doing so, the likelihood of a hostage situation is reduced even further. Unless Israel is inclined to concede victory to Hamas, which is an action that they ought not to undertake.

It is ridiculous that the White House attempted to spin the situation. At best, it is a stretch to assert that the resolution establishes a connection between detainees and a cessation of hostilities. The Russian and Chinese vetoes of the U.S. draft resolution were correct in its condition for a ceasefire to be reinstated: the Israeli hostages' release. Once more, it is evident that the Biden administration is falling short in its commitment to our ally.

Following the disappointing decision made by the administration, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu aptly canceled a meeting with Biden's advisers in order to deliberate on their divergent viewpoints. Who then is to condemn him? Clearly "perplexed" by the gravity of the situation, the Biden administration appears more concerned with maintaining a façade of harmony than standing up for what is right.

This further demonstrates the Biden administration's indifference towards Israel's defense. It is reminiscent of the final weeks of the Obama administration, when they abstained on a resolution that would have deemed the illegal presence of Israel in specific regions. As we are all aware, the consequence of that situation was President Donald Trump's audacious choice to relocate the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem.

The Biden administration must demonstrate resolute support for Israel amidst the threat posed by terrorism. And let us hope, for the love of democracy and freedom, that they obtain it as soon as possible.
