President Joe Biden’s poll numbers, just one year away from the 2024 election, are not looking good. According to a New York Times/Siena College poll, Trump is gaining significant support from black voters, with 22% of them favoring him over Biden. This is a notable increase from the 12% he received in 2020. And it gets even worse for the Democrats. Among Hispanic voters in swing states, Trump is getting 42% of the vote, compared to Biden’s 50%. This is a major improvement from the 32%-65% deficit Trump faced in 2020. If these trends continue, the Democrats may find themselves losing their grip on these crucial voting blocs.
But why are black and Latino voters turning towards Trump? It seems that the economy is the driving factor behind their shift. With Biden’s handling of the economy and soaring inflation rates, people are not happy. An NBC News poll revealed that a whopping 59% of voters disapprove of Biden’s economic policies, while only 38% approve. Ouch! Looks like “Bidenomics” is not resonating with the American people, and Trump is capitalizing on their dissatisfaction.
Now, Trump is leading the Republican primary race, both in early states and nationally. In fact, according to RealClearPolitics, Trump has a slight lead over Biden in national polling and a more substantial lead in swing states. It’s clear that Trump still has a strong base of support and is a formidable opponent for Biden in 2024.
Biden’s poll numbers are tanking, and it seems that his chances of winning the 2024 election rely on the loyalty of Latino and black voters. But with Trump gaining ground among these groups, thanks to their dissatisfaction with the economy, the Democrats have a tough battle ahead.
