What a show, folks! Last night, President Biden took the stage for his State of the Union speech, and boy, oh boy, was it a doozy. This seasoned journalist, with over four decades of presidential speech-watching under his belt, can confidently say he’s never seen anything quite like it. It was less of a traditional State of the Union and more of a campaign rally on steroids. The president came out swinging, hurling insults at Republicans in Congress and even taking a jab at the Supreme Court. Talk about combative!
Now, let’s talk borders. Ah, the southern border – a topic near and dear to conservative hearts. President Biden had the audacity to claim former President Trump failed in his duties while completely ignoring the chaos at the border under his own watch. The influx of undocumented migrants continues unabated, and what’s the president doing about it? Not much, except hiring more officers and judges to process the backlog of cases. How about actually securing the border, Mr. President? It’s as if the concept of border control has completely evaded him.

And on to the economy. President Biden’s proposal for a minimum tax on billionaires has conservative heads spinning. Taxing the wealthy at a higher rate than the hardworking folks who keep this country running? Sounds like class warfare to me. And let’s not forget his crackdown on corporations for raising prices. Newsflash, Mr. President – that’s called capitalism. Government interference in market forces only leads to trouble, but I guess that’s a lesson lost on this administration.
But perhaps the most glaring issue of the night was the president’s demeanor. Joe Biden came across as an angry, confused elderly man shouting at clouds. It was painful to watch as he stumbled through his speech, propped up by who knows what cocktail of stimulants. And don’t even get me started on Vice President Harris and the Democrats in the chamber. Their theatrics were cringeworthy at best.
Thankfully, the GOP had a shining moment with Senator Katie Britt’s measured and uplifting response. Finally, a voice of reason in the midst of all the chaos. Let’s hope this is the last time we have to endure such a spectacle from the Biden-Harris administration. Here’s to brighter days ahead.
