Biden Won’t Deny Feds Plans to Investigate Elon Musk After Twitter Purchase with Saudis

During a press conference following the 2022 midterm elections, President Joe Biden was asked about Elon Musk's Twitter takeover and what the government might do about it.

During the press conference, a reporter asked the president if he thought that Musk was a threat to national security of the country. He was then asked if the government would investigate his acquisition of Twitter with the help of foreign governments, such as Saudi Arabia.

Biden said that Musk and his foreign government investors should be investigated. However, he added that he wasn't suggesting that Musk was doing anything wrong.

Leftist media outlets have continuously pushed the Biden administration to investigate Musk since he purchased Twitter in an attempt to restore free speech on the platform.

Musk's lawyers revealed that he was under investigation. This investigation occurred during the final negotiations for his acquisition of Twitter.

In a court filing, Twitter confirmed that the federal authorities are investigating Musk over his conduct in the acquisition of the company.

The filing did not provide the exact details of the investigations. However, it noted that they were looking into his actions and statements about the company.

In July, Twitter sued Musk in an attempt to force him to close the deal. According to the court filing, his lawyers claimed that they were protected by investigative privilege.
