The latest blunder from the Biden administration has left many American families scratching their heads and wondering when exactly they can expect some help with paying for their kids’ college. The new federal aid program for students, known as the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, was supposed to go live last October, but surprise, surprise, it got off to a glitchy start just this past Saturday.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre tried to spin the situation, claiming they initiated a “soft launch” to monitor the site’s performance and create a better experience for students and families. Seriously, a soft launch? It sounds like they’re trying to make excuses for another epic fail. And guess what? There are still bugs to be sorted out, but apparently, they’re seeing some “better improvements.” Well, good for them, I guess.
It’s no surprise that the Biden administration is trying to cover their tracks by emphasizing their efforts to make the college application process easier for families and students. But let’s not forget that they had estimated a whopping 17 million families would apply for aid within the first year of the program’s launch, and so far, only 400,000 have started the application. That’s quite a big gap, don’t you think?
The truth is, this is just another example of the Biden administration’s incompetence and inability to deliver on their promises. American families deserve better than half-baked programs and empty excuses. Let’s hope they finally get their act together and provide the help that so many families are counting on. But knowing their track record, we won’t hold our breath.
