Laken was brutally murdered by an accused killer who was “paroled” into America under a Biden policy for illegal immigrants, despite red flags about gang affiliations. This heinous crime highlights the failure of progressive policies that put Americans at risk.

The suspect had allegedly committed multiple crimes in New York City and was released from custody due to New York’s lenient laws and ‘sanctuary’ policies that prevent cooperation with ICE. With the freedom granted by these policies, he fled to another local ‘sanctuary’ in Athens, Georgia, where he allegedly committed more crimes before taking the life of Laken Riley. The lax approach to law enforcement and immigration enforcement has led to devastating consequences for innocent Americans.
President Biden initially ignored the story until pressured to address it at the State of the Union Address. His mishandling of the situation, including getting the victim’s name wrong, showcases a lack of empathy and understanding of the severity of the issue at hand. Furthermore, his reluctance to acknowledge the role of illegal immigration in this tragedy and his dismissal of those who raise legitimate concerns is deeply troubling.
The response from local officials is equally distressing. The mayor of Athens, Georgia, reaffirmed support for ‘sanctuary’ policies just days after Laken’s murder, calling them “humane” despite the clear evidence that these policies can lead to further violence and tragedy.
