President Biden’s gross mishandling of the border situation has resulted in a staggering number of deaths of Latino migrants. In 2022 alone, at least 1,000 lives were lost due to the chaotic and reckless policies put in place by the Biden administration. This number is a sharp and distressing increase from the already devastating 2021 death toll of 568 migrants.
To put this into perspective, the stark comparison is made with the relatively controlled border situation under President Donald Trump, where there were only 254 deaths in 2020. It’s clear that the Democrats’ hypocritical condemnation of President Trump’s border policies as they kept “kids in cages” has come back to bite them, as they are now faced with the horrific consequences of their own incompetent governance.

The Department of Homeland Security reported that the 2022 death toll included 895 discovered bodies in deserts, mountains, and rivers, 96 individuals killed while crossing the border, and 55 deaths of individuals being pursued, processed, or detained by border agents. It’s a heart-wrenching reality that among these fatalities were over 151 women and 17 teenagers or children.
What is even more appalling is that the department’s report fails to acknowledge the growing number of Americans who have lost their lives at the hands of the many migrants freely entering the country. The Biden administration conveniently plans to withhold the additional death toll numbers until after the 2024 election, shrouding their failures in secrecy.
As Republicans and their allies shed light on the devastating loss of American lives due to the administration’s negligent policies, the glaring fact of the matter cannot be ignored — migrants are dying because President Biden has encouraged them to surge to the border and illegally enter the country. This harsh reality was emphasized by Rep. Jim Jordan, who rightfully called for a halt to the dangerous situation Biden’s administration has enabled.
Moreover, the nonchalant attitude of Democrats like Rep. Deborah Ross, who callously prioritize the influx of migrant labor over the avoidable loss of lives, is simply unforgivable. The excuses made by Democrats to justify this lethal scenario, under the guise of fulfilling the alleged demands of the economy, are nothing short of callous and misguided.
The catastrophic consequences are evident, as the vast majority of the progressive migrants’ victims are predominantly poor, non-white Latinos from countries like Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador. The Biden administration’s reckless border policies have directly contributed to these tragic and unnecessary deaths, and their refusal to acknowledge this reality is appalling.
The stories of desperation and tragedy, such as the harrowing accounts of migrants’ perilous journeys through treacherous terrains, serve as stark reminders of the dire situation created by the Biden administration’s failure to uphold the rule of law and secure the border. The heart-wrenching accounts of lives lost, families destroyed, and individuals exploited as a result of their failed policies are a disgrace to the American people.
The stark contrast in outcomes between the Trump administration’s efforts to secure the border and the abysmal failure of the Biden administration is clear and undeniable. It’s time for the Biden administration to be held accountable for the trail of devastation they have left in their wake. The American people deserve better, and it is time for decisive action to reclaim safety, security, and integrity at the border
