Border Patrol Chief Gregory Bovino delivered a blunt warning on Hannity this week about the consequences of the Biden administration’s open-border policies and the poisonous rhetoric coming from some Democratic leaders. Bovino directly challenged Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, saying plainly that the governor “doesn’t care” about the safety of his citizens when he attacks federal enforcement instead of confronting criminality head-on.
Bovino urged Pritzker to follow Louisiana’s tougher example on immigration enforcement, arguing that when elected officials posture and vilify federal agents, they embolden dangerous elements and inspire violence against law enforcement. When governors and mayors cast law enforcement as the enemy, ordinary Americans and law-abiding officers pay the price — that’s a predictable consequence of political theater, not leadership.
Conservatives should be clear-eyed about the stakes: standing with Border Patrol and ICE is not about ideology, it’s about keeping families safe and protecting communities from violent criminals. If politicians want to posture, they’ll face the fallout when crime rises and citizens demand common-sense enforcement rather than virtue-signaling lawsuits.
Americans who value rule of law must back leaders who put safety first and stop rewarding those who weaken it for political gain. It’s time for elected officials to stop coddling lawbreakers, stop demonizing our federal agents, and start doing their jobs — because when they don’t, patriots and police are left to clean up the mess.
