The Biden administration’s crusade against anything that emits carbon emissions continues, and this time, they’ve set their sights on ceiling fans. Can you believe it? Ceiling fans! But Republicans in the House of Representatives are not going to let this one slide. They understand the impact it will have on America’s small businesses, and they are fighting back.
In a letter to Secretary Jennifer Granholm and the U.S. Department of Energy, the House Small Business Committee outlines their concerns about the proposed rule. They argue that the rule would require small business fan manufacturers to redesign their products, which could force between 10 and 30 percent of them out of business. It seems like the Department of Energy didn’t think about the little guys when coming up with this rule.

But let’s be honest, it’s not surprising that the Biden administration didn’t consider the impact on small businesses. They’ve shown time and time again that they don’t care about the little guy or individual Americans. The lawmakers in their letter emphasize the importance of considering small businesses, which make up 99.9 percent of all businesses in the United States, when passing new rules.
To get a better understanding of the impact of this rule, the committee has asked the Department of Energy a series of questions. They want to know if small businesses can use alternative compliance methods, what the impact will be on product lines, if the availability of ceiling fans will decrease, and what the additional costs will be for small businesses. They also ask if the Department of Energy believes specific small businesses will go out of business as a result of this rule. These are important questions that deserve answers.
Secretary Granholm and the Department of Energy have until August 30 to respond to the House Small Business Committee’s questions. Let’s hope they actually take the concerns of small businesses into consideration for once. Because if they don’t, we’ll have to add ceiling fans to the growing list of casualties of the Biden administration’s extreme climate agenda. And that’s just absurd.
